Nicole Narea covers state politics and policy for Vox, focusing on personalities, conversations, and political battles happening in state capitals and why they matter to the entire country. She has written about the end of Roe v. Wade and the politics of abortion, the threat of election denier candidates in the 2022 midterms, America’s enduring gun violence problem, the human costs of US border policy, the Latino electorate, and more. She first joined Vox in 2019 as an immigration policy reporter. Her work has also appeared in Politico, Washington Monthly, the New Republic, Law360, and NPR.

Nicole is based in Austin, Texas. She’s a graduate of Yale University and a first-generation American.
