Julia Craven has been a creator since she was a little girl sitting in the middle of her great-grandmother’s living room floor. There, in the thick of the North Carolina summer, she would craft vision boards, sketch out designs for magazine pages, and write novellas. She remains a creative storyteller and journalist covering health, wellness, and racism. Her writing has been featured in New York magazine, Nieman Reports, Vox, and FiveThirtyEight. And her work "It’s Not Too Late to Save Black Lives," which focuses on how public officials can lessen the impact of Covid-19 on Black folks, is featured in the 2021 edition of The Best American Science and Nature Writing.
